I’m interested in how we see animals in a place, how we shape that place, and how it shapes us.

In the year of the Yang, I’m looking at pastoral animals such as a goats, sheep, and rams.

For this project, I traveled to Norway, Iceland and Ireland to investigate the roots of my family's heritage, creating portraits the shed light on cultural ecology.

I’m inspired by the compositions and lighting of 18th and 19th century paintings while looking for a bit of warmth and humanity.
